Let’s plan your wine tour from Barcelona
Around Barcelona, you have a dozen wine regions to explore. But here we are going to focus on our favorite 3: Penedés, Priorat, and Alella.
- Penedes. Only one hour drive from Barcelona. It has over 300 wineries and it’s famous for making cava. A sparkling wine made with the same method as Champagne, the Champagnoise.
- Priorat is a region located 1,5 hours drive from Barcelona, and it is famous for making some of the best red wines in the world. This is a must-do for every red wine lover.
- Alella is the closest wine region to Barcelona. It offers breath taking sea views from the vineyards and good quality white wines and sparklings.
How to get to the wineries
There are different ways to get to the vineyards near you. That is why we will include this information in every section. Ways to get to the wineries:
- By train is the safest and most environment-friendly one. It offers the possibility to drink in moderation and enjoy the ride. Here you have a selection of wineries reachable by train.
- By car, it’s another easy way to get to the vineyards, especially those that are unreachable by train. The inconvenience is that the driver has to stay sober.
