Pick-up
At 8:30 am in Barcelona or at 9:30 am in Tarragona, you will start your wine route. Your guide will pick you up at your accommodation and take you to the Priorat, a 2-hour drive. An opportunity to meet your guide and learn about the region you will be visiting.
The historic winery of Scala Dei
The Scala Dei winery was the first winery in the region and dates back to the 15th century. Today it is a very important winery for all Priorat wines. A wonderful place with a rich history and excellent wines to taste. A must when you come to Priorat to visit a winery.
Visit to the Carthusian Monastery of Scala Dei
Because a wine tour and a historical tour can go very well together, I will take you to the first Carthusian monastery in Spain. A monastery that gives its name to the region. Priory meant the villages belonging to the prior of Scala Dei. A monastery that maintains a deep relationship with its history, and I would love to share it with you.
Lunch at Clos Figueras
The Clos Figueras winery, in the town of Gratallops, is one of the first wineries that saw the potential of Priorat in the late 1980s. Today it is a renowned winery with a fine dining restaurant. Where you will have a traditional Spanish lunch paired with Clos Figueras wines.

Marco Rossi –
Ivan was our guide for the 12 hours tour to the Priorat wine region. We left Barcelona very early and arrived at the Más Doix cellars, a new building facing the Monsant mountain range. During that visit, joined by another couple of tourists, we tasted 5 different wines made with Granatxa and other local grapes. A visit to Cartoixa d’Escaladei (Carthusian Monastery of Santa Maria d’Escaladei) was extremely useful to understand the history (since the year 1200) behind this prolific region of quality wines. We had lunch at the Clos Figueres restaurant where we tried an excellent Garnatxa wine (Figueres 2017) with our food based on local produce. We ended our tour with a very detailed visit to Scala Dei, the most known cellar of the region. Along the visit, we enjoyed the enthusiasm of Paul, our internal guide, a very proud Brit that has been in the region for over 20 years. A special recognition to the knowledge of Ivan, not only in terms of the Priorat region but of Catalonia at large. All in all, a very remarkable experience that I strongly recommend.

Ivan gave us a most individual trip, we have been to the area before but this trip took us right to the heart of the area, speaking to people involved in the industry not just a person dealing with visitors. The visit to the biodynamic vineyard was amazing, standing within those vines was so peaceful and we could really sense how at one with nature they were. An excellent day throughout with a wonderful guide – Ivan looked after us really well and was very obliging, I am so glad we booked this it made our holiday.

It was a very good tour.
Ivan does well curating the sites / wineries to visit during the tour. The meal, restaurant was also outstanding!
We were able to visit an entirely new area outside of Barcelona that was beautiful because of this, Priorat was breath taking!
Go!

It was great! We went to two wineries and it couldn’t be more beautiful. This all thanks to Ivan (our guide). He asked for our preferences and really listened to us and made this a tour we will not forget!

I have done a number of wine tours around the world- and I will rate this as the best ever. Ivan is the best!
Pick up was easy and he planned an epic itinerary showcasing the history of priorat and the wine tastings offered amazing expressions of the regional wines (bought a lot of wine!)
Lunch was wonderful. Most wine tours go low quality for lunch but this one was really top notch.
It was truly a unique experience made better by Ivan’s knowledge and friendliness. Loved the day and am so glad I booked this one.

Ivan is an awesome tour guide for this Priorat historical winery. He is very knowledgeable with the landscape; great views driving up to the valley. Lunch spot was phenomenal with great wine pairing.
If you are lucky you will get to meet the greatest Olive store owner (Neus) and she is passionate about her olive oil products.

We had a lovely time – Priorat was beautiful and he fit our chosen winery into the schedule along with a memorable one he recommended as well as a phenomenal lunch spot. We even got to see a couple additional sights!
Ivan was super pleasant and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the conversation and he had plenty of suggestions for restaurants and attractions to see.
I wholeheartedly recommend this wine tour!

Ivan was perfect. I emailed several companies in advance and he is the only one that responded in a timely manner. He was so informative about the region, we could have skipped the winery tour at Perinet and gone right to the tasting — because he had already told us so much! We stayed in Sitges — which is also the best move ever– much closer to the wine regions. The restaurant “Brots” was also such a great experience, tiny local place with unique prix fixe menu — definitely need reservations, but Ivan takes car of all of that!

Ivan was an excellent guide for our day in Priorat. The three wineries that we visited each treated us to very informative tours and we tasted an amazing variety of wines. Each winery had its own unique personality and style. Ivan substituted our last winery to be a visit at Cooperativa Falset Marca which was brilliant. I loved learning about the wine making processes used for their two styles of vermouth and their Ranci. Ivan’s knowledge of the geography and climate of Priorat added to the experience. Also, I felt confident in his driving skills on the winding mountain roads.

A tour with Ivan will be the highlight of our visit to Barcelona. He is friendly, informative and a good driver. We learned about the history, climate and culture of Priorat. The wine and food were great too, but Ivan himself is what makes this tour a standout experience.

The wine tour with Ivan in Priorat was an unforgettable experience. We tasted wonderful wines and olive oils, learned so much at each winery, got to see a breathtaking monastery, and had an incredible lunch at a restaurant in town. Ivan is a fantastic tour guide: so knowledgable, personable, and fun. This was certainly the highlight of our Barcelona trip, and if/when we travel here again, we’ll make it a point to book a tour with Ivan again.
