1. Recaredo
Recaredo is a family-owned winery specializing in terroir-driven, vintage Brut Nature sparkling wines from the Alt Penedès region. Their wines are renowned for long aging, natural cork closures, and a commitment to biodynamic viticulture. Each bottle is disgorged manually and shown to the visitor. 2. Nadal
Nadal is a historic winery in Penedès that used to make liquor and is now part of the Corpinnat brand. Today, you can still see the old concrete tanks where the wine is fermented and an underground cellar where the second fermentation occurs. 3. Llopart
Llopart offers a unique wine experience with visits to their historic underground cellar and breathtaking views of Montserrat. The Cava DO (Denomination of Origin) is a wine appellation in Spain that regulates the production of sparkling wines made using the traditional method of second fermentation in the bottle. The wineries within this DO are dedicated to maintaining high-quality standards, often being small family-owned businesses that are deeply committed to their craft. 4. Cava Guilera
Cava Guilera is a small family winery specializing in long-aging cavas. From 1,5 years to more than 20! Guests can enjoy the “Contemplative Tasting,” featuring four meticulously aged cavas paired with cheese, or the “Foodies Lunch,” which includes premium regional products alongside the cavas. For a more personal touch, the winery offers a tour with Pere, the owner, who shares the family’s winemaking traditions. 5. Giró del Gorner
Giró del Gorner is another family-run winery, the oldest one I know, with 4 centuries of history! The winery offers a delightful picnic experience featuring a variety of Spanish tapas, including a Spanish omelet, Catalan bread with tomato, and a selection of cheeses and cold meats. ArtCava is a unique project focused on reviving traditional Catalan winemaking with a modern twist. The cava tour includes a demonstration of the cava disgorgement process, a guided visit to an old Catalan house, and the exciting opportunity to craft your cava.
