A charming picnic with cava-tasting
The first experience that I recommend is a picnic in the vineyards of this 2-centuries winery. Located a few kilometers from Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, in a natural environment of great beauty.
With the experience, they offer a picnic basket with all kinds of local products: cheese, Catalan sausages, homemade Spanish omelet, bread with tomato (Catalan pà am tomàquet)… all of exceptional quality.
And of course, they also include a bottle of cava or wine (to the client’s preference) for every two adults. The bottle comes from the same winery. And if you go with children, they will have a soft drink (or water).
The basket is returnable and allows you to explore the most pleasant corners of the vineyards where to sit with your partner, friends or family and enjoy this outdoor picnic!
Cycling through vineyards and lunch at a winery

The experience begins with a one-hour horseback ride through the Penedes vineyards. A lovely horse ride, with views of the mountains of Montserrat and with horses very well cared for by a trusted equestrian.

Visit to a premium winery and a chocolate factory
Continuing this list of the best wine tours in the Penedes, we have an idea you will like. Especially if you are a lover of bubbles and chocolate, we will go to the capital of Cava, the town of Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, where we will find the Recaredo winery.
In the cellar, you will learn about the family’s history and its best-kept secret: the basement of a century of history that does not allow you to take pictures inside. But believe me, it is terrific and well worth entering.
The tour lasts approximately two hours and includes a visit to the winery, with a detailed explanation of the sparkling wine elaboration process and a demonstration of manual disgorging. It is worth mentioning here that Recaredo is the only winery in the Penedés that continues to use this traditional method in all its bottles. A practice that is being lost and, therefore, worth witnessing.
After the demonstration and the visit, you will taste four wines: 2 whites and 2 Corpinnat. This experience can be complemented by a visit to the chocolate factory of Simón Coll, which is just 50 meters away.
