Winery tour program
9:30 a.m. - Pick up in Barcelona
Your guide will pick you up at your accommodation at 9:30 am. After a 45-minute drive, you will arrive in the Penedès, the famous cava and wine region, where you will start your winery tour. Your guide will provide basic knowledge about the area and its wines, but as a certified sommelier, they can also answer any technical questions you might have during the tour.
10:30 a.m. - Visit a small cava winery cellar
At the first winery, a friendly guide will teach you about the elaboration of cava in the Penedès, and curious travelers will discover how cava is crafted in a boutique winery. The learning is presented in an easy, non-technical atmosphere, making it approachable for everyone. To make the experience truly authentic, the visit includes a demonstration of manual disgorgement and other traditional techniques, allowing you to see firsthand the craftsmanship that goes into every bottle. The tour concludes with a cava tasting in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, where you can enjoy different vintages, from young “Cava de Guarda” to long aging “Gran Reserva.”
12:30 p.m. - Food and wine pairing in family winery
2 p.m. - Cava tasting at an organic winery
The final stop of our journey takes us to an organic and biodynamic winery housed in a beautiful old cottage farm. Your guide will tour you inside this historical winery, sharing the heritage of its founding families and their pioneering commitment to sustainable viticulture. Here, you will enjoy a specialized tasting comparing two distinct styles of sparkling wine: a traditional Cava and an ancestral Pet-Nat (Pétillant Naturel). This stop provides a perfect opportunity to discover award-winning bottles that you can even export to the USA or Canada to enjoy back home.
4:30 p.m. - Drop-off in Barcelona
At around 4:30 p.m. your guide will drop you off at your hotel in Barcelona.

FAQ’S about this cava tour
Although this is a Cava Tour, we will mainly taste sparkling wine, and red and white wine will be served at lunch. Let your guide know if you are a still-wine person; he or she will accommodate the tasting at the second winery.
Our small-group tour follows a carefully curated itinerary. Changes are only made on rare occasions, such as for returning guests requesting different wineries. Private tours, however, are fully customizable and designed à la carte.
We are happy to accommodate vegetarian, gluten-free, and other dietary restrictions on all our tours. Please let us know about any specific needs when booking by filling out the “Do you have any dietary restrictions?” section.
Small group tours are set to a maximum of 8 people. If you are a group larger than 8 you can request a private tour sending us a form here.
In the Cava Tour we only pick-up inside the city of Barcelona. The pick-up will be as close to your hotel as possible. However, in some cases, we may ask you to walk 10 to 15 minutes to a nearby pick-up location to help streamline our guide’s schedule. We truly appreciate your understanding.
Because our group sizes are limited, we highly recommend booking in advance. If you’re unsure of your tour date, you can secure your spot with a 25% deposit and pay the remaining balance the day before your tour. Our flexible cancellation policy is designed to prioritize your convenience and flexibility.
Both, Private Tour and Small-Group Tour has the same cancellation policy: allowing you to cancel the tour more than 24 hours before the starting of the tour and receive a full-refund. If the cancellaion is done less than 24 hours before the starting of the tour, no refund will be given.
The legal age for drinking alcoholic beverages in Spain is 18.
To preserve the tranquility of the group, kids under 12 are only allowed in the private tours. Small-group tours are for adults only and exceptionally we accept kids of 12 years or more.
- Red Alerts: Tours are canceled only if a Red Alert (very unlikely) is issued.
- Yellow & Orange Alerts: We exercise extreme caution and closely monitor conditions for these alert levels, though tours typically proceed as planned due to our partners’ indoor capacity.
- Standard Weather: Tours are not canceled for typical rain or wind, as all tasting experiences can be moved to comfortable indoor settings.

This was one of the best experiences we had in Catalonia. Guided by Joan, a knowledgeable and friendly sommelier, we visited three family-run wineries, each offering something unique.
